Next, allow the bank to lessen and the wing will move forward of the point, constantly lessening the bank to hold the wing in the position just forward of the point. The airplane will spiral outward to any desired radius. Be sure to maintain altitude during the turns. All turns are coordinated. Never use the rudder to force the wing to point to an object on the ground.
Spiraling Outward
Training with Technique
As the wing moves toward the point, have the student keep increasing bank thus turning the airplane more and not allowing the wing to come over the point. The radius will decrease until the airplane is in a steep bank. Do not exceed 45 degrees bank.
Spiraling Inward
Crop Circle Fields make a good platform to practice by beginning on a calm day with a typical turn around a point then, have the student increase bank until the wing comes just behind the point and hold it there.

The importance of a Certified Flight Instructor cannot be overstated. A student may read about flight training and be well prepared however, the CFI orchestrates the successful outcome. Good preflight preparation and instruction will make the use of these techniques come to life. The student will "get it" as soon as the application of the techniques are rehearsed. Memory of "how to do it " will be much longer. The learning will be at the Correlation Level which is required by the PTS.
